Limits, codes, and what happens after an abuse report

A browser can keep 10 active links and can create 10 links in 24 hours. Creating a link checks that cap. If you are over it, delete or disable one from Your links and try again. There is no paid upgrade.

Custom codes

Random codes are eight characters from a cryptographic generator. They are not sequential and they are not derived from the destination. A custom code, on a plan that allows it, is a name you pick. It still has to be 3–32 characters, it cannot be a reserved path such as “admin” or “pricing”, and it has to be unused. A custom code does not bypass the scheme checks or the denylist.

If the same account shortens the same destination again, the existing active link is returned instead of minting another code. That keeps accidental double-submits from burning the plan limit. You can turn that reuse off in the deployment settings if you intentionally want multiple codes for one URL.

Reports

Anyone can submit an abuse report with a reason and a short description. The report stores the short code and a snapshot of the destination when the code matches a link. Support staff can move a report through open, reviewing, action taken, or dismissed, and they can disable or block the link in the same action. Those steps are written to the audit log with the staff account id, not with a password or session token.

Blocking a link makes the redirect return HTTP 451. Disabling it returns HTTP 410. Neither state is a suggestion in the interface; the redirect handler reads the row.

Donations

The public site does not take cards. An optional Bitcoin address can be published on the donate page. Sending coins does not change a link limit, and the application never sees the transaction.
